Furness
Tradition is run entirely by volunteers who aim to encourage creative participation
in folk and craft traditions associated with Furness, and with the places
which have influenced its little-known music, dance, songs, and stories.
As well as running workshops in schools and the community, and organising
an annual festival in mid-July each year, a core part of our work is to collect
items from our cultural heritage, oral or written.
New
members and friends of Furness Tradition are always welcome to join.
If you want to help out at the festival, take part in archive work, or simply
put your name on the database for updates on what we are doing when, then
please use this link for our Newsletter.
Potential performers or workshop leaders should send details by post to:
PO Box 25, Ulverston, LA12 7UN.
