Tyde

Heather Gessey - Fiddle (Vocals)
Seth Tinsley - Guitar (Vocals)
Andrew Waite - Accordion

A major hit of the 2010 Summer Festivals (including Cambridge, Sidmouth and Big Session) Tyde are back in 2011 with the same class and an even bigger sound.

Touted by BBC Radio 2’s Mike Harding as “The best young band I’ve heard in years” it’s the mixture of raw energy, prodigious musical ability and clever, fresh arrangements that make Tyde something different. They play blazing tunes on fiddle, accordion and driving rhythmic guitar, big vamping bass and a unity of playing rarely seen on the live music scene.
As Finalists in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards their mesmerising performances of dynamic, fresh and quite brilliantly played sets captured the hearts of the live and broadcast audience. With music that draws on influences from every corner of the British Isles and beyond they deliver modern, punchy, danceable tunes, carefully arranged songs and intricate, emotional slow sets.

Gavin Davenport
” If more of our young “folkies” could write and sing like this there would be a great future for our traditional music. Highly recommended. No, actually it’s essential.
