Traditional Step and Morris Dancing at Furness Tradition Festival, 2009
Dance Sides confirmed

Belfagan Women's Morris

Belfagan is an all-female side, established in 1981 and based in the Cumbrian market town of Cockermouth. We follow mostly the North West Morris tradition, and some of our dances are named after places in our area, like Keswick, Wigton, Eaglesfield or the Cumberland Crown.

P.R.A.T.S (Pateley Real Ale Tasting Society, Longsword division)

The team was formed in 2004 by experienced dancers from other Morris traditions. All our longsword is made up by ourselves with imaginative titles like Old 6 Man, 3 Man and New 6 Man (even though we are a mixed team)! We intersperse the longsword with other dances such as a Basque dance or a Hebridean dance. Kit is blue cords, white collarless shirt with red ribbon armbands. Pateley Bridge is in Nidderdale the nearest town being Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Overheard at Cleckheaton Folk Festival - "They're breaking the Longsword rules, it's interesting to watch and they look like they're enjoying themselves"!
