Furness Tradition...is a community organisation which brings together professional musical artists with folk music enthusiasts.
We offer young people a chance to play acoustic music, learn new tunes and songs, find out about folk music and dance, learn their own traditional musical culture, and join in the thriving British folk scene.
We do this by running a monthly young people's folk music club where young people can meet and mix with musicians, singers, dancers and performers, and receive free learning and take part in open sessions. We encourage parents and adult players and singers to listen in, play along, pass on the tradition, take part in events and offer support. We also provide performance opportunities and special events involving musicians from other cultures. Refreshments, and a few instruments, are provided. See contacts page to find how to get in touch.
